Roasted Strawberry, Blueberry & Banana Baby Food Puree
This Roasted Strawberry, Blueberry & Banana baby food is a colorful and yummy addition to any meal. Plus, it’s packed with Vitamin C to boost the immune system.
Now that it’s fall, I’ve definitely found myself bringing home way more vegetables from the grocery store to make baby food. It all started with a sugar pumpkin for Pumpkin Spice Puree. Then it was carrots and celery for Chicken Noodle Soup and sweet potatoes for a Chicken, Sweet Potato & Quinoa Puree (coming soon!).
But it’s important not to forget fruits. Or any major food group for that matter. Maintaining a balanced diet that includes a wide variety of foods helps baby obtain all the necessary vitamins and minerals. Plus, Hanky Panky LOVES fruit, especially Pear & Raspberry Puree and Bananas.
So in the spirit of fall, I decided to roast some of Hanky Pank’s favorite fruits with a little bit of cinnamon. Roasting fruit maintains the sweet flavor, but makes it richer. And it makes your kitchen smell amazing.
This puree is packed with Vitamin C, perfect for boosting the immune system as we begin cold season. In addition, it’s a good source of Vitamin B6 and Potassium from the bananas and Vitamin K from the blueberries. And while it’s great on its own, it’s great for mixing. We’ve liked adding it to Hanky Pank’s Apple & Cinnamon Oatmeal.
Allergy Warning: Strawberries are considered a high allergen food. If you’re concerned about allergies, talk to your pediatrician. Once you’re comfortable introducing strawberries, just watch for symptoms of a food allergy. Refer to Food Allergy Reactions for more information.
